How Well Do You Know Me?

I shook my head, denying her words. “You don’t know me well at all.”

“Oh but I do,” she insisted. “I’ve known you since you were little and I know everything about you.”

Frustrated, I shook my head again but she was already walking away, content with her misinformation that she knew all there was to know about me.

We didn’t spend a great deal of time together and what she thought she knew was only from seeing me at church. We never hung out or confided in one another so how could we possibly know every intimate detail about one another?

Indeed. How does one have knowledge of another without spending time with them, confiding in one another, trusting each other with their deepest thoughts, desires, and fears?

It’s not possible.

Today is the first day of a brand new year, one of which I will strive to know my Lord, my friend, my Savior, even deeper with the intimate knowledge one only knows from time well spent with Him. I look forward to diving headfirst into my Bible, calling to Him and learning things I didn’t know before. This will be a year of growth, a year of prayer, a year of asking and praying for great things, believing He will answer in abundance.

Today I will open a brand new journal, opening my hand and heart to let the prayer requests flow from my pen to the paper, petitioning the throne room with my requests for hearts to be mended, healing brought to the sick, ears to be opened, hearts softened, and for the gospel to spread like wildfire this year.

I pray for each one of you that this will be the time for us to step up, boldly declaring our faith, knowing we serve a mighty God who can move mountains to do His will.

I pray we will be richly blessed through a heart of servitude committing to serve one another but especially those who do not know the Lord.

I know God is preparing His people to do a mighty work this year and I pray we are ready for it. Are your hearts and attitudes right this year? Are you willing to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ? Will this be the year of restoration for our land?

Jeremiah 33:3–Call to me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

2 Chronicles 7:14- If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Peter 3:18–But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
