A Peek at The Farm Wyfe’s Table–week 2

Spring is hands down my favorite season of all with flowers blooming and garden plants blossoming. The newness of life surrounds us–baby birds chirping, piglets squealing, and calves quietly lowing. The weather is crisp and the gentle breeze is refreshing humid and the clouds heavy and gray with the promise of more rain to come. Despite the dismal weather we are having this week (which isn’t the norm around here until hurricane season), I do love spring! We picked our first squash this week and it was delicious–thinly sliced and sautéed in butter with a little onion, garlic, salt and pepper! Mmmmmmm…..so good. We are anxiously looking forward to the rest of our harvest!
If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to connect with a local farmer for fresh produce and meats. Local produce is always much tastier and fresher than produce purchased at a grocery store. Not my opinion. It’s the truth.☺️
I hope you’re enjoying this series “A Peek at The Farm Wyfe’s Table”. If you missed last week’s intro and menu, including recipe links, click here.
This week has been hectic with the preparation of our upcoming Farm Stroll, so you will notice less cooking this week and more leftovers and “fend for yourself” meals. And that’s ok! Here is Week 2, enjoy!
