Looking for last minute Valentine’s Day decor to surprise your family tomorrow morning? Or just to decorate because you want to? Here are 3 simple ideas that’ll take no time at all!
1. Make a DIY Flower vase. Cut out cardstock hearts and glue them to wooden skewers. Place them in a Mason jar filled with clear rocks. Paper and mason jars are things we always have so this was a no-brainer for us. Don’t have those? Look through your cabinets and see what creative ideas you come up with for a makeshift flower vase.
2. Make a mailbox for homemade Valentine’s Day cards. We picked up these little tin boxes from Target several years ago. The kids had a great time coloring them and covering them in stickers. They’ve since been destroyed so this year we are making mailboxes from paper lunch bags.
3. Print some great FREE printables from Pinterest. This is the easiest way to decorate last minute and doesn’t cost anything more than the ink and paper already in your printable. We found this Bible verse printable and gift bag tags on Pinterest.
Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. Keep holidays simple and spend time making memories. We love our increasingly rare craft time together, but those are things memories are made of!
Try keeping a craft box on hand filled with paper, glue, popsicle sticks, stickers, markers and crayons, so when the urge to craft strikes, you’ll be set!

Someone couldn’t hang with the big kids and crashed under his swing!
(Don’t be jealous of my mad cupcake baking skills. Ha! The kids were impressed with our chocolate hearts! They’re so simple to make with melted chocolate, wax paper, and a ziplock bag!)
