The first time I heard we were moving to the country in St. Augustine, I thought that meant I’d be wearing overalls and carrying my lunch to school in a metal pail. I was eight years old and my only experience with “country” was Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie, two of my mom’s favorite shows.
Since then, I grew up among farms and even married my own smokin’ hot third-generation farmer. And now we are raising our quiverful of six kids on the farm.
We have the best of both worlds here in St. Augustine from the quaint, picturesque downtown to the sunshine-filled coast lining our state. The growth continues booming and people flock to visit our sweet not-so-little-anymore town.
We haven’t lost that friendly atmosphere and close family feel though and at most local businesses, you’ll find a friendly face welcoming you. During the holidays, three million lights deck the halls, the trees, and the rooftops. It’s by far the most beautiful time to visit our beloved oldest city.
